Get Your Sleep On!


“It is more of a health benefit to receive 2 hours of sleep prior to midnight then 4 hours after midnight.” I have paraphrased this quote written nearly over 100 years ago by Ellen White.  The battle for sleep is real!   I am up during the week by 5:30 a.m. I often try my best to retire by 10:00 p.m. most of the time it’s by 11:00 p.m. I notice a difference an hour will make. Most of us are sleep deprived. The benefits of sleep is worthy. Seven hours for me is idea and eight is icing on the cake. If we want good health, sleep is essential.  Try these tips to get to bed earlier and get 7-8 hours of rest.  Plan on eating dinner and having the kids ready for bed prior to 8:00 p.m. Take an hour for yourself, 10 min. stretch workout and  20 min. for a hot bath.  Prepare a hot cup of ginger, chamomile tea, or warm almond milk.  Stray away from any unsettling noise or activity, listen to soft music or read and meditate.  All lights and televisions off by 9:00 p.m.  there are phone apps that will silence cellphones so your sleep will go uninterrupted.  Happy sleeping!
